Ivor Jones is put on trial at the Central Criminal Court at the Old Bailey in London. The Old Bailey is the actual central criminal court in London, named for the street on which it is located.

Jones is said to have been pot-holing with his uncle when the murder/accident occurred that killed his uncle. "Potholing" is a term used in Britain and Ireland for caving/spelunking.

In panel 4 of page 1 of the story, one of Jones' guards on the drive back to the prison from the court tells the driver to take the back way because traffic will be terrible on Holborn. Holborn is one of the streets near the Old Bailey.

In panel 5 of page 2 of the story, one of the officers calls in the escape car as speeding off down Goswell Road. This is an actual road in London, not far from the Old Bailey.

On page 2 of the story, Foster states that Jones' encounter with the Green-faced Ghost occurred under the Tafflyn Hills. I've been unable to confirm the existence of said hills.

Also on page 2, Foster remarks that if Jones is telling the truth about the ghost, he may soon wish he were back safe and sound at Wormwood Scrubs. This is a reference to HM Prison Wormwood Scrubs in London.

On page 6 of the story, Foster remarks on the fact that he knows the aliens are capable of adapting to living under the water. This was evidenced in past stories such as "Sub-Smash", "The Sound of Silence", "Reflections in the Water", "Waters of Fear", and "Terror in the Tank".

In the last panel of the story, Foster thinks on how Ivor and his uncle won't be able to remember anything after their SHADO treatment. He is, of course, referring to the application of SHADO's amnesia drug to make them forget about the alien activity they were exposed to.

UNANSWERED QUESTIONS

At the end of the story, Foster seems to think the aliens will still be alive inside the collapsed cave, waiting for the SHADO mop-up. Did the aliens survive the collapse? And even if they did, won't they just commit suicide by bomb or other method when they see they are about to be taken into SHADO custody, as they have done in the past?
